Terms of Service

Afluento helps you practice speaking European Portuguese. You step into short scenarios, listen, answer out loud, and get corrections and feedback. To do that, Afluento sends your microphone audio through its server to OpenAI for speech-to-text and, during repetition practice, pronunciation comparison. Afluento processes this audio in memory and does not save it in its database or file storage. OpenAI's own processing and retention are explained in the Privacy Policy.

Some older accounts may have tools outside language practice enabled, such as tasks, contacts, or a connected calendar. Those tools are not part of language practice.

You sign in with Google or with an email link. Keep your sign-in method safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone else got into your account, email support@afluento.com.

When you use Afluento, you agree not to:

• break the law or help someone else break it,
• try to get into accounts or data that are not yours,
• overload, attack, or abuse the service,
• resell the service without permission.

AI can draft scenarios and sample answers. A human reviews and approves each complete scenario before learners can see it. AI also turns speech into text and checks answers and pronunciation. Automated transcripts, scores, corrections, and repetition checks can be wrong. Afluento is a practice tool. It is not professional, legal, medical, or financial advice.

If your account has the calendar tool and you connect a calendar, Afluento only sends a calendar change after you review and approve it in the app.

Some features may need a paid plan. Payments are handled by Stripe. You can view, change, or cancel your plan on the billing page in the app. If a limit applies to your plan, the app shows it.

We work to keep Afluento running well, but we cannot promise it will never be down. Features can change as the product improves.

You can stop using Afluento at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing support@afluento.com. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Afluento is provided “as is”, to the extent the law allows. It is a practice tool, and it does not replace your own judgment.

These terms are governed by the law of Portugal.

If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top of this page. If you keep using Afluento after a change, that means you accept the new terms.
